Produced from 1965 to 1969, the Aston Martin DB6 Mk I, the first version of the Aston Martin DB6, was a successful evolution from the previous DB4 and DB5 models. It boasted a stretched chassis and relocated rear axle in order to offer additional seat space for the rear passengers, making the DB6 a real 4-seater. Aston Martin also adopted a new chassis construction with the DB6, dropping the superleggera technique used on both DB4 and DB5. The new chassis was 17 pounds heavier, but it enhanced the high-speed stability of the car with aerodynamic improvements. In addition to being a particularly comfortable and luxurious grand touring classic, the DB6 is also a very enjoyable driver’s car thanks to the Tadek Marek-designed engine, featuring a double overhead camshaft 4-Liter. Capable of 282hp at 5,500 rpm (and an exciting 325hp with the Vantage option), the Aston Martin DB6 hit an average top speed of 150mph. Lastly, as you already know, the DB6 Coupe is one of the most elegant designs of its era, especially with the curved Kamm tail on the rear end, and the split front and rear bumpers.

1966 Aston Martin DB6 Coupe Seller’s Guide

If you’re looking to sell your 1966 Aston Martin DB6 Coupe, some tips and knowledge can be very useful in making the transaction as smooth and successful as possible. Collectors, for example, will value any information available on the car, from the authenticity documents to the original handbook and list of previous owners. Be sure to present a complete file to potential buyers and don’t be shy on details and stories to raise their interest. When advertising your car, you should always be clear and honest. Buyers will have more confidence and be more likely to purchase vehicles that are in the exact shape they were described. While some rust will not deter buyers from your classic, always ensure that your asking price reflects the overall condition of your Aston Martin. Rest assured knowing buyers are looking for models of all conditions – from barn finds and unfinished restoration projects to the finest mint-condition examples.
