1970 Aston Martin DB6 Mk II

With production beginning in the summer of 1969, the Aston Martin DB6 Mk II was the second version of the DB6, succeeding to the Mk I. Even more luxurious, offering standard power steering and air conditioning on option, the DB6 Mk II was a comfortable family car while still being a sporty grand touring classic. The wheelbase being longer than the one used for the DB4 and DB5, the 1970 Aston Martin DB6 Mk II is a genuine 4-seater, with significantly increased space at the rear. The high-speed stability of the car also improved thanks to a gorgeous and now iconic anti-lift Kamm-style rear end. Additionally, the 4-Liter engine was designed by the famous Tadek Marek and was capable of boasting 282hp at 5,500 rpm for the standard version, and 325hp with the Vantage specification. The 5-speed manual gearbox transmitted the power to the wheels and was greatly appreciated by the enthusiast community.

1970 Aston Martin DB6 Mk II Seller’s Guide

The production of the Mk II ran from 1969 to 1971, and ran alongside the Aston Martin DBS. As a matter of fact, several parts from the DBS were used in the fabrication of the second generation of DB6s, such as the seats (which were said to be more comfortable). The 1970 Aston Martin DB6 Mk II also featured new options such as an AE Brico electronic fuel injection. Of course, these are things that you know as an owner, but should be sure to share with potential buyers. Additionally, if you’re selling your example, be sure to document all service and restoration operations and any additional documentation you can provide. These are just a few of the many seller’s tips that the Alex Manos team offers to their clients and friends. For more, be sure to browse their website.
