The Bentley 4.5 Litre was last produced in 1931. The model was one of Bentley’s first models and succeeded to the 3.5 Litre. A 4.4-liter, inline-four engine powered the car, delivering 110 hp–130 hp for the racing model. Top speed record was 138 mph and in 1928, a Bentley 4.5 Litre won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A four-speed manual gearbox with no synchromesh was bolted to the engine, suspension used semi-elliptic leaf springs all around, and the brakes were conventional drums. The chassis was sent to the customer’s coachbuilder of choice upon delivery from the factory and the designers will create a tourer or a saloon most of the time. 740 units were built in total and 55 of those were equipped with a supercharged engine.
