Buying or Selling a 1959 Bentley S1?
The 1959 Bentley S1 was the last model year made of this particular model. In September of 1959, the manufacturer introduced the new aluminum alloy 6230cc V-8 engine. It was fitted with two SU carburetors mounted above the cylinder block and had hydraulic tappets. The cylinder head had the valves at 28 degrees instead of in line with the cylinder bores. However, with this model, the spark plugs were very difficult to change because of the proximity to other exhaust parts in the car. Soon, the S1 model would become the S2 model with this new engine change. When selling this vehicle, this is a very good model year to have of the Bentley S1.
