About Pourtout

 

Founded by Marcel Pourtout in 1925, Carrosserie Pourtout was a French coach building company known for its designs up until World War II, including prestigious bodies for European manufacturers. Pourtout designs were presented at the annual Paris Auto Show until the war. Some models were still shown at the Paris Auto Show between 1947 and 1952 and the firm produced a number of prestigious bodies before the operations shifted to industry and advertising. Carrosserie Pourtout designed and manufactured bodies for at least 20 car makers, including FIAT, Bugatti, Lancia, Renault, Peugeot, Bentley, Delage, Delahaye and Chrysler. Nowadays, Pourtout operates as a vehicle body repair shop but no longer has creative offices.
