Selling a 1963 BMW 700
The wide array of variations the 700 had at this point was something of an overture, as well as an omen of what was to come for BMW after the 700 had its time in the sun. One example would be the 700 CS—a renamed Sport that was introduced in 1960. The CS was only available as a coupe, and featured a roaring engine and an anti-roll bar in the rear. Another change heralded by 1963 was an increase of its output to 32 horsepower (impressive for a relatively puny motorcycle engine). And for those who valued the car’s original efficiency, the 700 LS was also released in the year’s line-up. A simplified version of the Luxus, it had a lower price tag than its roomier counterpart. But as for the 1963 BMW 700, it would remain BMW’s golden child and retain its well-deserved spotlight.
1963 BMW 700 Seller’s Guide
The 1963 BMW 700, by this point in its lifecycle, had a pretty wide variety of model types to choose from, each with its own valuation quirks and confusions. One serious problem, however, remained, and still remains to this day: not many of the 700s ever came to America, relative to the large number produced. This makes the market for 700s quite strange, considering the other cars of the time period, and a strange market means that selling is a hassle, no matter how valuable your car is. This can, however, be mitigated with one, simple phone call. Yes, make that call to Alex Manos, and you’ll find that your selling experience becomes absolutely hassle free!
