Selling a 1955 Jaguar XK140
The Jaguar XK140 was manufactured between 1954 and 1957, and was the widely popular successor to the XK120. The XK120 had been Jaguars return to the sport-luxury market after World War II and was an instant success for the brand. The 1955 Jaguar XK140 (and other year models) took luxury and performance to another level. Upgrades included better brakes, rack and pinion steering, increased suspension travel, and modern tube-style shock absorbers. Aesthetically, more substantial bumpers were added as well as modern flashing turn signals. During this time double amber lights were also added above the bumper and are an easy indicator of a XK140 over a XK120. Today, it is not uncommon to see Jaguar XK 120 models that have these amber lights, however, as many of the XK 120 owners asked for them to be installed on their own cars.
