Selling a 1962 Porsche 356? You’ve found the industry’s leading resource for Seller’s Tips and Seller’s Guides. The 1962 model-year is an important one in the evolution of the Porsche 356 line. While the 356B was produced from 1959 until 1963, just one year prior to the release of the 356C Porsche released the T6 body type. Offering yet another advancement in styling, the T6 included twin deck lid grilles, a new external fuel filler in the front right fender, and larger windows. The bonnet also became more squared-off and wider. During this time, Porsche also produced what would become one of their most unique configurations. Notably one of the most rare of the 356 series, the Karmann Hardtop of Notchbak was essentially a cabriolet body with a fixed hardtop welded in place. Looking much like a cabriolet with its hardtop on, it was in fact the equivalent to a coupe since the top could not actually be removed. It is thought that less than 2,300 of these models were made between 1961 and 1962. If you’re the proud owner of one of these models – or any of the 356 Porsches – the team at Alex Manos would like to speak with you.
