Selling a 1969 Porsche 911E
There were approximately 2,826 models of the 1969 Porsche 911E manufactured during the B-Series of Porsche 911 production. During this time, the 911 had received its first significant update and the 911E was central to the new model lineup. Replacing the 911L as the new “standard” model, the “E” would stand for “Einspritz,” which is German for injection, to denote the new Bosch mechanical fuel injection that replaced the previously used carburetors. This advancement would raise the power of the 2.0L engine to more than 140 horsepower and allowed for the removal of an air pump. Other changes included a crankshaft that was now made of lightweight magnesium rather than aluminum. The most significant change was an increase to the wheelbase, which was achieved by moving the wheels back by lengthening the trailing arms and allowing the driveshaft to be slightly angled. The 1969 Porsche 911E was also fitted with self-leveling hydro-pneumatic dampers to improve handling. These are just a few of the selling features and benefits to the 1969 Porsche 911E classic.
