During the 1968 model year, Porsche was unable to meet safety and regulations standards in America with its 911 S Coupe model and, as a result, it would only be offered in the European market. When 1969 rolled around, Porsche had sorted out its lineup on both sides of the Atlantic and again offered the 911S alongside the 911T and 911E. The 1969 Porsche 911 S Coupe was released with much anticipation. Now offering a top speed of 140mph and a base price of $7,895, the 911S was an affordable sports car that blended power with beauty; and let’s not forget the fun owners had driving it. The new 911 S also offered fuel injection, which allowed Porsche to marry high performance with low emissions. Further perks of owning a 1969 Porsche 911 Coupe the standard five-speed transmission, whereas buyers of the 911T and 911E were offered their choice of Porsche’s Sportomatic transmission, four- or five-speed. While this might not sound like a perk, true enthusiasts will tell you there is no other way to drive a 911 than with a five-speed manual.

1969 Porsche 911 S Coupe Seller’s Guide

The Alex Manos team knows that the decision to sell your 1969 Porsche 911 S Coupe does not come lightly. These cars saw very little rust protection during the manufacturing process and unfortunately many have fallen thanks to extensive rusting. If you have any documentation regarding ownership history, maintenance or restoration, you’ll also want to have that handy when you speak with the Alex Manos staff. Lastly, having current pictures can expedite the process.
