Launched in 1970, the De Tomaso Pantera model was produced until 1993 with many upgrades were introduced throughout the years. Three models of Pantera were available in 1981: the Lusso, the GTS Euro, and the GT5. The Lusso was a comfortable and luxurious version, while the GTS was a sportier model. The GT5 was introduced in 1980 and was characterized by extended polyester fenders enabling the fitting of larger tires in the front and rear, with rims similar to those used on racing Pantera GR 4 models. Front lights progressively split into two parts separating lights and blinkers. Bucket seats were made available as an option and real leather was now used inside on the seats and dash. The interior could be customized with different leather colors and wood inserts on the dash and doors. A delta wing similar to the one used on the Lamborghini Countach could also be ordered.
