Lamborghini introduced the Espada at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show and the model was produced for a whole decade—until 1978. The Lamborghini Espada was made in three different variants. The first variant was the S1, or series I, and was produced only in 1968 and 1969. During its one year production run, 186 units of the Lamborghini Espada Series I were made. The main differences between the first variant and later models were a slightly lower power output and minor design cues. All three series were powered by Lamborghini’s 4-liter, V12. The S1 were tuned to generate an output of 325 hp whereas later models added 25 hp. The interior was modernized, with a revised dashboard. Series II models were built from December 1969 to November 1972, and series III were produced from December 1972 to the end of the production run in 1978.
