1963 Maserati Mistral Spyder

The Maserati Mistral was unveiled at the Turin show in 1963 for the coupe model, and the next year in Geneva for the convertible model known as “Spyder.” The very first Mistral Spyders were fitted with the popular Maserati 3.5-liter, twin cam, six-cylinder engine, while later models featured more potent versions. That same engine powered the iconic Maserati 3500 and was based on the racecar models that won many titles. Pietro Frua styled the body of this two-seater sports car using softer and rounder shapes than for the previous Maserati models. The 1963 Maserati Mistral Spyder was based on an improved version of the Maserati 3500 GTI’s chassis, with a shorter wheelbase. Maggiora of Turin built the body using a steel shell and aluminum panels for the doors, hood and trunk lid.

1963 Maserati Mistral Spyder Seller’s Guide

The performance of the Maserati Mistral were quite impressive when the car first came out, and with only 125 units made of the convertible model, a 1963 Maserati Mistral Spyder is a very attractive classic car for enthusiasts and collectors. If you are thinking about selling your car, one of the best seller’s tips the Alex Manos team will give you is to gather as much documentation as you can regarding the car’s history of ownership, repair and maintenance, and any restoration that has been done. Not only will this help answer buyer’s questions but can also help them make a decision to move forward quicker. Classic car buyers are usually knowledgeable about the model they are looking at and can be quite meticulous with details. Be sure to be 100% honest when listing out the features and options of your car, as well as any future needs for service.
