Selling a Rolls Royce Phantom VI

Rolls Royce Phantom VI

The Rolls Royce Phantom VI was a more exclusive successor to the Phantom V, and lived through decades of Rolls Royce history, including the the fracturing of Rolls Royce Ltd. and its buyout by Vickers a decade later. As the last Rolls Royce to have the option of a separate chassis, the Phantom VI saw further standardization of its design under the merged Mulliner Park Ward. Early models were not dissimilar from the Phantom V with V8 engines, large drum brakes, and quad headlamps. A uniform limousine was most popular, sporting the same Parthenon-style grille and chromed out hubcaps that were so immaculate on the Phantom, the only noticeable departure being a slightly taller green house.

In 1979 the design was revised a bit with the additions of a new 3-speed gearbox and dual air conditioning units to keep passengers cool as they rode in comfort and style. As a testament to its success, it had one of the longest runs in the brand’s history being built from 1968 all the way into 1990. Much like the Phantom IV, its sale numbers were small, mostly filling orders from high-profile buyers such as Queen Elizabeth II and the Governor-General of Australia.

Phantom VI Seller’s Guide

You’d think a car produced for as long as the Rolls Royce Phantom VI was would be more abundant, but just under 400 were produced in its two decade lifetime. This is often the case with Rolls Royce. For this storied brand, quality always trumps quantity. However, there a few things to remember with the Phantom VI, mainly the variations based on the production years, such as post-1982 having an improved engine. Body style is also a point of interest as say Laundalette versions are worth far more than limousines. Valuing a car can be tricky. That’s why professionals like Alex Manos exist. Certain things are only gained with experience and Alex Manos has that in spades. He and his equally qualified team can receive your call, quote a price, and have your car on its way with minimum hassle on your end. Don’t delay! Your bank account will thank you.
