The main design cues of the Triumph TR3 model were a revised aluminum grille and the central stop light in the rear, replaced by two lights on the sides. The engine used bigger carburetors and could produce 95 hp at 5,000 rpm. The unit was linked to a manual four-speed gearbox with overdrive. Disc brakes were available on option and became standard from September 1956. In the summer 1957, the Triumph TR3 was replaced by the upgraded Triumph TR3A.
